How will your smartphone look like in five years time?

Snapchat venture into bringing you real time news

The former sexting app Snapchat is now becoming a force in delivering real-time news to its extensive audience through its Snapchat Story feature.  Recently, the US experienced yet another mass shooting in California. The Snapchat “story” featured users who were near the attack. Some of the shots included behind the scenes images of police activity, as well as shots of the wounded being airlifted away.

Optimising visual content on Instagram

Instagram best supports four different types of visual content; text, photo, video and immersive. So how can we take best advantage of this platform? According to Instagram’s European creative lead, Alastair Cotterill emojis form a vital part in the way we communicate over text thus they need to be designed and used in a way that fits naturally into a text-based conversation in your post.  While it is important to tell an interesting story in your post through using vivid imagery, the trick lies in tying together a number of different posts to create a series. Definitely worth a read.

30672c61-d844-440b-8543-90e3dd243a88Pinterest has a new way to entice users to come back and buy things: keeping tabs on the price. Pinterest has launched a new tool that helps its users monitor price drops on products they’ve pinned. When users save pins, they’ll get a heads up when a price drops in the form of an in-app notification and an email. They can then jump straight onto that pin and make the purchase.
