Mike Zeederberg

Mike Zeederberg is the Managing Director and owner of Zuni and oversees the development and delivery of most client strategic work.

Mike has over 13 years experience in the interactive marketing industry, both in digital integration and management roles with traditional agencies such as Batey Ads in Singapore, Brann in London, FCB and as Managing Partner of Euro RSCG Interaction in Sydney, as well as leading a digital pureplay agency during his 3 years as MD of Profero Australia.

Mike’s key area of expertise is strategy with a focus on delivering deep consumer understanding and business strategy. He also works with a number of Zuni’s senior clients in a strategy review and business consulting role, as well as sitting on client steering boards.

With an extremely wide range of experience, Mike has worked in most industry sectors, from technology with Apple, Intel and IBM, automotive with Mitsubishi, Volvo and NRMA Motoring Services, a range of healthcare companies including Pfizer, TENA and Astra Zeneca, entertainment companies including Universal Music, EA Games, and in the B2B sector with clients inclduing the Australian Institute of Management (AIM), the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and Fuji Xerox. Add to that, experience in FMCG with Pizza Hut, Gatorade, Nike and Burger King and financial services with MLC, HSBC, Macquarie Bank and Halifax.

He is extremely active in both the creative and digital communities in Australia:  he founded the Australian version of Creative Social, a gathering of creative directors focused around improving digital creativity in Australia. He also established, and is Chair of Judges for Creative Showcase, the IAB’s regular digital creative award. He has co-chaired the judging panel for the IAB Awards in Australia and has judged the AIMIA, ADMA and AWARD awards as well.

Mike oversees and lectures ADMA’s (Australian Direct Marketing Association) digital marketing courses, acting as Head Tutor for their Certificate in Digital Marketing which is taught around the country, and lecturing their Digital Strategy course. He also lectures for Econsultancy Australia.  Mike also regularly guest lectures and speaks at conferences, and has spoken at ADMA Forum, Ad:Tech and EConsultlancy’s Future of Digital Marketing in Malaysia.

Q: What job title would you invent for yourself if you could?

A: Director of what could be.


Q: If you could be an animal, what would you be?

A: A honey-badger – They’re grumpy, fierce, extremely loyal, punch well above their weight and completely fearless.


Q: Favourite kind of project to work on and why?

A: What :- Developing a digital strategy for a client with a complex business in an industry that is being highly disrupted by the digital channels, and then getting the chance to see it through. Why :- We can make a real difference and use our skills and understanding of the space to have significant business impact.
